Well, the basic principle is openness, transparency and fully keeping the public informed.
우리 정부의 코로나19 대응 원칙은 개방성과 투명성, 그리고
국민들께 최대한 충실히 알리는 것입니다.

Well first of all, testing is central because that leads to early detection,
it minimizes further spread and it quickly treats those found with the virus.

무엇보다, 조기진단을 이끌어내기 떄문에 검사가 가장 중요합니다.
코로나19확산을 최소화하고 확진자들이 신속하게 치료 받게끔 합니다.

And I think that’s the key behind our very low fatality rate as well.
저는 그것이 낮은 사망률을 유지하는데 있어 주된 이유라고 생각합니다.

Well, I think this is being faithful to the values of our very vibrant
democracy which is open and the government fully in the service of the people,
and I have to say our public is very demanding and expects
the highest standards from government services.

굉장히 생동감있는 민주주의 가치에 충실하기 때문이라고 생각합니다.

we are definitely seeing a normalizing trend in reduction
of new cases but of course we are not complacent.
This is just not about us.​and we are taking this approach
of openness and transparency not just domestically but to
the international community because we are a country that
is highly interdependent with the rest of the world. Our economy
depends on this interdependency with the outside world. So,
we want to keep the doors open with the other countries.

우리는 분명히 신규 확진자 감소에 따른, 정상화로 이어지는 추세를 목도하고 있습니다.
하지만 물론, 여기에 안주하지 않습니다. 이것은 한국만의 일이 아닙니다.
우리는 국내 뿐 아니라 국제사화에 대해 개방성과 투명성의 접근 방식을 취하고 있습니다.
한국은 세계 국가와 상호의존관계에 있기에 문호를 개방하며 긴밀한 협력을 유지하고 있습니다.​

One thing I would also like to point out; as governments, we also have to guard against panic.

한 가지 짚고 싶은 것은 각 정부가 우리가 공포와 불안을 차단하기 위해
경계해야 한다는 점입니다.​

I think governments have to be cool headed about this and do what we do based on evidence and science.
​
각국 정부가 과학과 근거에 기반해 냉철하게 대응하고 할 일을 해야 한다고 생각합니다.

So we hope that our experience and our approach and
model (not only) informs other countries dealing with​
this Covid 19 but also (leads) to greater international
collaboration for better preparedness when this comes around the next time.​​​
